I’m here in the heart of summer’s bounty and it is so fragrant and colorful, it’s almost obscene.
Women here, this morning, walking around shamelessly with bouquets of basil, cilantro and parsley. Unknown harlots of the kitchen.
I’m just one of many in the line to buy all of the bounty of summer: squash blossoms, long beans, cucumbers, cabbages and oh, the tomatoes. Early girls are my favorites with the heirlooms not far behind.
I can afford all of these essential and necessary purchases which makes me incredibly lucky and wealthy in a way many would not see.
My lunches in the kitchen at work. Fragrant tomatoes, heavily salted, leaking their delicious juices. The smell reaching beyond my cubicle to the passersby. Glossy and indescribably delicious.

Oh I so love a fresh market. Curious to hear what you have plans for your bounty.
